The animation phases were created frame by frame. Tools:
Deluxe Paint II, Autodesk Animator.

For bigger e.g. portrait animations, a template was painted, scanned, and
manipulated frame by frame.

The backgrounds and and the intro sequence were rendered
using 3D Studio (version 1.0). A short scene combining 3d background and 2d
character can be seen below.

 uring my stay at the
University of Magdeburg,
I created several images dedicated to the famoust son of the city of Magdeburg:
Otto von Guericke.
Some people still ask me for some of these images, sometimes.
Otto von GuerickeAnimations
In 1992, me and a friend of mine we visualized some of Guerickes experiments
concerning the air pressure as a video game.
A 2d animated Otto von Guericke experienced a 3d world. Some of these many animations
created during this project can be seen on the left.
